What’s This All About?

At Lincoln, students encounter many opportunities to write in all subject areas. Writing is an essential part of all students’ future: whether it prepares them for future academic, professional, or social successes.

The Writing Center is a place where any and every student can seek assistance for any writing assignment or project. Students are encouraged to bring in all types of writing, at any stage of the writing process, from assignment comprehension and idea generation through final polishing and citation assistance. The Writing Center is not just a resource for academic writing. We are resource for help with college/other applications, and a resource for getting involved with the greater writing community around Portland. We live in a city rich with literary events: the Writing Center is here to show students the many different ways writing can be fun and beneficial, and not just for school.

The LHS Writing Center Blog is the virtual space for anything and everything related to writing. This includes, but is not limited to, writing contests, scholarship opportunities, book readings, writing groups and workshops.
